Furthering Your Reconciliation Practices

This post is also available in: Français (French)

The following asynchronous activities are meant to help you further your reconciliation practices.

Reflection:

  • Why do you do a land acknowledgement?
  • What do you know of the history of the people on whose land you live/work?
  • Have you visited your local Native Friendship Centre?
  • Have you read the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s 94 Calls to Action? Have you acted on any of the recommendations? What call(s) to action could you act on in the next year?

Action:

  • Learn more about the history of Indigenous peoples in your area.
  • Read the TRC’s 94 Calls to Action; make a commitment to act on at least one call this year.
  • Support local Indigenous-owned businesses.
  • Add a land acknowledgement to your email signature, business card, etc.
