What is the EDC Listserv?

The EDC listserv has been active since July 2000 and has over 400 subscribers. The listserv is an email-based community space to exchange ideas, opinions, and experiences of concern to EDC members and others who are interested in matters related to educational development.

How do I Subscribe & Unsubscribe?

When you become an EDC member, you are added to the listserv during the next update which is a manual process. To subscribe to the listserv or update your subscriber information, contact the list coordinator, Vice-Chair Communications at, with your name and preferred email address.

To unsubscribe to the listserv, follow the instructions on the bottom of an email which was been sent to you via the listserv. Use the email address we have on file when unsubscribing.  If you have comments/questions or would like to request to be removed from the list temporarily, please contact the Vice-Chair Communications ( and not spam the full list.

How do I post?

As an EDC listserv member, feel free to post to the listserv by emailing Posts are often questions for the community (e.g., great keynote speakers, good resource on assessment redesign), announcements of hires, job postings and local conference announcements. Official Caucus announcements and news items are also posted to the site by the Vice-Chair Communications ( and other members of the EDC Executive.

Tips for Listserv Etiquette

If you plan on being away from email for an extended period of time and intend to set-up an “out of the office” automatic reply message, please request to be temporarily unsubscribed to the EDC listserv. This will minimize unnecessary messages sent to list members who are actively checking their email. Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.

Also please consider that your posts are to the EDC community of members and those who have joined our listserv. That is 400 current and future colleagues. We also ask that posts are specific to the educational development context.
